    The October NASHRM training is scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2022. Training will be delivered using Zoom, an online audio and web conferencing platform. If you plan to attend, please email our Programs Manager, Traci Gatewood at traci@g2diverse.com.

    Our start time is 11:45 a.m. for sign-in, with the program running from 12:00-1:00 p.m. This presentation is expected to be approved for SHRM credits.

    Session Description: This session will provide an update on benefits-related legislative and regulatory topics, including the Inflation Reduction Act, ACA affordability, and the Transparency Act. Employee benefits trends, such as value-based care and geographically dispersed workforces, will also be discussed.

    Presenter Bio: Colleen Savoie is a Vice President and Account Executive in Parker, Smith & Feek’s Anchorage office. She is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs. Her experience includes both active and retiree benefits, complex plans with multiple divisions or bargaining units, various funding mechanisms, preferred provider contracting, ancillary benefits, flexible benefit plans, wellness and disease management programs, compliance issues, and benefits administration.

    Colleen began her career in employee benefits in 1996, and worked with Alaskan and national benefit firms before joining Parker, Smith & Feek in 2009. Colleen is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, has been actively involved in Alaska legislative issues, and is experienced as an invited speaker on benefit issues in both Alaska and the lower 48. Colleen received her B.A. from Rice University. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alaska SPCA and serves on the IMA Foundation Board of Directors. In 2014, she was named one of the Most Influential Women in Benefits Advising by Employee Benefit Adviser.
