NASHRM: Essential Strategy Blueprint: HR’s Role in Strategic Alignment

    https://northernak.shrm.org

The February NASHRM training is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2021. Training will be delivered using Zoom, an online audio and web conferencing platform. If you plan to attend, please reply to this email by Tuesday, February 16, and the link will be sent to you.

Our start time is 11:45 a.m. for sign-in, with the program running from 12:00-1:00 p.m. This presentation has been approved for SHRM and HRCI (pending) credits.

Plans don’t create success. People do. When we talk about strategy design and execution, we simply must address the most critical component of how these things move off the paper and into reality. This requires communicating, guiding and empowering people in a manner that aligns them with the organization’s vision and plan for success.

We have taken this concept into practice with the release of the Essential Strategy Blueprint, a synergistic process defined by 7 Key Activities that support the Essential Strategy balanced approach to Purpose, Growth & Survival.

In this training session, Erin Sedor will first walk through the Essential Strategy Foundation and Blueprint to provide HR practitioners with a solid understanding of strategy design and implementation basics so attendees know when and how they should be interacting with this critical process.

We will then take a deeper dive into Key Activity 2 (Align) where the HR function takes center stage. Align is all about orientation, feedback and guidance to ensure that your people are rowing in the same direction to support strategic objectives. We will talk about when and how this process connects with other business cycles, brainstorm creative ways to get it done, and provide useful tools for HR practitioners looking to add value to the planning cycles in their own organizations!

Erin Sedor is a risk and strategy expert supporting clients in a variety of industries in the for-profit, non-profit, and government sectors. She is the architect of the Essential Strategy approach and related Blueprint system. Erin has long been a thought leader in the area of integrated strategy, risk, and resilience systems, having more than 26 years of experience as a risk professional, C-suite officer, non-profit board chair, and now executive consultant and advisor.

Fueled by the need to create hybrid programs to better identify and mitigate strategic risk and improve goal execution during her corporate career, Erin developed a uniquely effective Essential Strategy approach that lays the foundation for more meaningful strategy design and execution, creating greater risk visibility and improving operational efficiency without reinventing the process.

Erin holds an MBA in Operational Risk, as well as bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Organizational Development. She is a RIMS Fellow and international instructor for the RIMS organization and regularly writes and presents at conferences on the topics of strategy, risk, and resilience.
