    Our new start time is 11:45 a.m. for sign-in with the program running from 12pm-1pm.  This presentation has been approved for SHRM and HRCI credits.

    Renea Saade, Shareholder with the Alaska office of Littler Mendelson, the largest U.S. & Global Labor & Employment law firm (www.littler.com ), will provide us with an update on the most significant employment law developments from 2018 (and this year so far) and provide some practical tips for Alaskan HR Professionals concerning 2019’s emerging employment law issues.

    An attorney in private practice for 20 years, Renea counsels employers on a broad range of employment law issues including wage and hour compliance, accommodation and leave requests, enforcement and defense of noncompetition and non-solicitation agreements, workplace investigations, discipline and terminations.  Renea also assists clients in the development, revision and enforcement of employee handbooks, policies and contracts and provides onsite employment law training (including training required for settlement of agency actions) on such issues as identifying and preventing harassment and discrimination, hiring “dos and don’ts”, and best practices for performance reviews.  She regularly represents employers in federal and state court proceedings, agency audits and investigations.  Renea lives in Anchorage with her family and enjoys volunteering in her community by speaking at events such as NASHRM meetings and as a Board Member of the nonprofit organizations:  YWCA Alaska and Koahnic Broadcasting Corporation.   For more information on Renea’s background, please go to: https://www.littler.com/people/renea-i-saade

    NASHRM will no longer be providing lunch, as such, there is no fee for NASHRM members to attend the training. Lunch can be obtained at the Café at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, or you may bring your lunch. Training will start promptly at noon. Please arrive early enough to get your lunch and be present in the training room for an on-time start.
