    The January NASHRM training is scheduled for Thursday, January 21, 2021. Training will be delivered using Zoom, an online audio and web conferencing platform. If you plan to attend, please reply to this email by Tuesday, January 19, and the link will be sent to you. 

    Our start time is 11:45 a.m. for sign-in, with the program running from 12:00-1:00 p.m. This presentation has been approved for SHRM and HRCI (pending) credits.

    Faith Rose will provide a high-level, introductory presentation geared toward Office Managers of smaller businesses who do not have routine Human Resources or Legal help.  The goal is to increase attendees’ awareness in the areas of basic compliance and legal risk management, and then to introduce some of the major employment laws that may apply to smaller businesses. She will touch on two of the many “cutting edge” topics in labor and employment law. A brief overview of the following topics will be provided:

    This training is also a good review for anyone working in the human resources management field.

    Faith Rose is the Associate General Counsel for Doyon, Limited: Faith joined the Doyon Legal Department in 2010 after working for twenty years as a commercial and employment law attorney in Alaska. Her work for Doyon centers on legal risk management, contract review and drafting, human resources advice and counsel, managing litigation matters, Native law, policy drafting, ethics and compliance.   

    Faith holds an undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a major in Art History and a minor in Music. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree, with distinction, Order of the Coif (top 10% of class) from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. She is licensed to practice law in Alaska, California and Florida. 

    When not working at Doyon, Faith is artist in residence at The Greater Light Art Studio.  Faith creates stained glass, beadwork, and paints portraits and landscapes in acrylics, for commercial sale and charity donation. Her favorite charity is Doyon Foundation, which provides scholarships and grants to Doyon’s 20,000 Native shareholders and their descendants.
