    The March NASHRM training is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2022. Training will be delivered using Zoom, an online audio and web conferencing platform. If you plan to attend, please request by emailing Traci Gatewood at traci.g2diverse.com. 

    Our start time is 11:45 a.m. for sign-in, with the program running from 12:00-1:00 p.m. This presentation is approved for SHRM and HRCI credits.

    Conducting effective internal investigations is an essential piece of an HR professional’s role in addressing complaints in the workplace, protecting the organization from legal consequences, and helping build trust among employees. This presentation will highlight fundamental aspects of an investigation and provide resources to help prepare HR professionals for this challenging task.

    Presenters
    Margo Griffith has worked in the field of Human Resources for over 25 years with experience in technical positions through leadership roles. Margo has experience conducting workplace investigations and since 2017 has served as the compliance officer at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Equity and Compliance, overseeing discrimination grievance processes and investigations.

    Graeme Abraham has served as the lead investigator with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Equity and Compliance since 2018. Prior to moving to Alaska, Graeme practiced landlord-tenant law then served as a whistleblower retaliation investigator for the state of Utah.

    Jordan Powell has served as an investigator with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Equity and Compliance since 2018. As an investigator, Jordan has conducted numerous Title VII investigations, including potential ADA violations, disparate hiring practices, and discrimination complaints. While Jordan was earning his Juris Doctorate in law school, Jordan interned at a law firm interviewing potential witnesses for criminal trials and clerked for a family law judge.     

    K. Parker ("Parker") has served as an investigator with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Equity and Compliance since 2018. Having moved to Alaska almost 8 years ago, Parker has prior experience working in criminal law, child protection law, immigration law, and various types of civil law.
